| Goals and Objectives for 2006 |

The Board of Selectmen meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 6 pm
in the Town Hall second floor meeting room. The meetings are open to the
public and taped for showing on Channel 26.

| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR 2006 |

- Improve communications between School and Town.
- Maintain Selectmen Liaison with the School board
- Maintain superintendent contacts (town administrator)
Action to be taken: Maintain contact on proposals for plans for a new central
school.
- Review Road Policies and standards – improve coordination with Planning Board.
- Establish common road standards and policies consistent between all boards
- Review road layout policy
- Review Road Acceptance requirements
Action to be taken: Meet with highway agent on road standards in coordination with planning board.
- Review and update of Emergency Management/ Board of Health Plans
- Review and update policies
Action to be taken: Update policies.
- Review issues concerning light pollution
- Review Waterville Valley light ordinance
- Coordinate with planning board new regulations
Action to be taken: Support planning board in adopting new policy and updating of master plan, zoning, subdivision and site plan regulations. The planning representative and alternate will interact with planning board.
- Review solid waste policies i.e.; recycling, disposal contracts, septage
- Review septage disposal and sewer requirements for the town
- Expand recycling programs
Action to be taken: Attend seminars on recycling/solid waste,
finalize plans for C&D Recycling programs,
and review future needs for town sewer
- Promote regional efforts to fund needed state highway projects
- Continue Regional Approach to highway improvements with NHDOT
- Joint meetings with Gilford concerning Rte 11
Action to be taken: Investigate status of DOT review for Route 11 project, review results and initiate contact with Gilford Selectmen to review project status. Review phasing for both Rte 11 and 28 where applicable-obtain recommendations from staff.
- Informational handout about the town (statistics etc)
Action to be taken: Obtain brochures from other towns for review.
- Review policy on e-mail and electronic record
Action to be taken: Obtain copies of other town policies, review with town Attorney.
- Review establishing annual event to acknowledge volunteers
- Annual function to recognize volunteers
- Annual dinner for volunteer and spouse
- Development of a Mission Statement for the Town Operations
- Positive Attitudes
- Customer Service
- Improve Information flow and Communications
- Quarterly Meetings with the Department Heads
