Chief Ryan L Heath





Sergeant Todd M Macdougall
...was hired by Alton in Nov 2002 after having worked for the Somersworth NH Police Dept and the Dept of Defense Police Force. Sgt Macdougall holds an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice and hopes to return to school to further his education and specialization in the near future. When he is off duty, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children.

Message: Remember your actions today could have unexpected consequences tomorrow.





Sergeant Richard K Vanderhoof
...grew up in the pacific northwest in Spokane WA. He has been a Police Officer since 1998 working with the Sarasota FL Police Dept and later in Somersworth NH before being hired by Alton in Apr 2007. He has also served in the US Army as a Reconnaissance Scout. Sgt Vanderhoof is currently a Member of the Belknap Special Operations Group. He holds Certifications as a Firearms Instructor, Field Training Officer, and also is a Motorcycle Officer. During his time off duty he enjoys his wife and 3 children. He would like to further his education and career experiences.

Detective Eric M Borge
...was hired by Alton in Aug 2004, after serving 5 years with the NH State Police Gaming Dept as an Investigator. Prior to that, he has 24 years of active duty in the US Coast Guard. Recently, Officer Borge was promoted to Detective to which he brings many years of his military and police experience. When off duty, he enjoys spending time with his wife, 2 sons and 5 grandchildren.

Message: We are all writing our life's legacy. What kind of legacy do you wnat to leave behind. Remember, making the wrong choices in life is easy - making hard choices builds character, integrity and molds leaders. Integrity is doing the right thing the right way for the right reasons.





Officer Jason P Tremblay
...started his law enforcement career as a new hire here in Alton in Apr 2007. He worked in training until he attended and graduated from the NH Police Academy in July. Previously he worked in sales for NH Distributors in Concord. Ofc Tremblay attended St Joseph's College of ME for 2 yrs where he studied history and business before deciding to become a police officer. He hopes to have the opportunity to return to school and further his education. He enjoys hiking, playing music, reading and spending time with his friends and fiancé in his off time. Ofc Tremblay looks forward to helping create a safer community to live in here in Alton.

Officer F Timothy Sullivan
...was hired by Alton in Oct 2007, after 1 1/2 yrs serving in the 32nd Precinct located in Harlem NY. While on the NY City Police Force, Ofc Sullivan received training in various areas of homeland security and weapons of mass destruction. He spent time working details at some of New Yorks largest gatherings such as New Years Eve in Time Square. Ofc Sullivan feels he brings the valuable experience of working in a multicultural society and hopes to apply that to his law enforcement career. On off time, he enjoys a challenging game of golf and spending time with friends and family.

Message: Slow down and enjoy life. Each day is a new day with a different beginning and ending. Thank you to all the Members of the Armed Forces for protecting this great country of ours. Godspeed.





Officer Christian M Johnson & K9 Zeke
...was hired in Alton in Mar 2008 after having worked in NH Law Enforcement since 1994. Officer Johnson is a certified Field Training Officer and is currently assigned to the patrol division with his loyal K-9 partner Zeke. In his off time Officer Johnson enjoys 4-wheeling & camping.

Message: Honesty is the best policy. Lying only brings you more trouble.





Officer Sean Sullivan
Sean was hired by this department in September 2009. He has 21 years of law enforcement experience. He spent the last 10 years as an SRO and the last 5 as a DARE Instructor. He is also a Police Motorcycle Instructor and enjoys riding off duty as well. He is married and has a son and twin daughters.

Message: It is not enough to make good choices for yourself; you need to help others make good choices too.





Officer Dennis M Orbino
... began his law enforcement career in Florida in 2000. Officer Orbino came to the Alton Police Department in Nov 2008, holding an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. In his spare time, he enjoys snowmobiling and all the recreation that New Hampshire has to offer.

Officer Tyler C Glidden
... joined the Alton Police Department in Nov 2008. Prior to becoming a Police Officer, he served in the US Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt. In his spare time, he enjoys spending it with his wife and is a big fan of all New England sports teams.

Message: Honesty is your best bet.





Officer Kurt I Driscoll
...is a former Sergeant in the US Marine Corp. He has over 15 yrs experience in the fire service as an EMT, Hazmat Technician, Technical Rescue Instructor and Incident Commander. He began his law enforcement career in NH with the Newington PD and became an Alton Officer in Nov 2004. He is currently assigned as our Firearms Instructor and Property/Evidence Technician. He has a Bachelors Degree in Criminology. On his off time he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 girls, reading non-fiction, hunting and fishing.

Message: Honesty is admirable - Lying is cowardly. Be mature enough to take responsibility for your actions.





Officer Brett J Murray
...began his law enforcement career as a part-time Officer in 2000. He was hired as a part-time Officer for Alton in Apr 2004. He studied Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement with So Univ, New York. In is free time, he enjoys his family, hunting and fishing.

Message: Treat people in the way you wish to be treated.





Officer Gary E Hannafin
...was hired as a part-time Officer with Alton in Mar 1999. He also is a Lieutenant with the Alton Fire Dept. He enjoys spending time with his family. He says family and true friends are the most important thing we have in life, respect each other.

Message: Please use your Seatbelt. It makes a difference!





Officer Jeffrey S Jacques
...has been in law enforcement for 12+ yrs. He was hired to a part-time Officer position by Alton in Oct 2003. Ofc Jacques previously served as a full time officer in two other NH Police Departments prior to his hiring in Alton.





Officer Jonathan F Briggs
...joined the Alton Police, part-time, in Nov of 2008 and has worked in law enforcement for 6 years prior to this. He is a full time veteran with the Manchester Fire Department and is also a Sales Associate with Curry Realtors in Alton Bay specializing in waterfront properties.

Message: Anyone will tell you they like to receive respect, it is important to give it as well.





Atty Catherine L Baumann - {Prosecutor}
...a graduate from Boston College of Law in 1988, her experience is almost exclusively in the area of criminal law. She started her career practicing with Thomas Colantuono Esq (our current US Attorney). She then spent over 12 yrs prosecuting for the Windham Police Dept, prior to being hired as the Alton Police Dept Prosecutor.

Message: If you can't do the time - don't do the crime.





Susan J Roberts, Executive Secretary
...was hired in Dec 1992, starting as a Dispatcher and in training to fill the soon retiring Secretary. She is a graduate of Burdett Secretarial Business School of Boston and worked and trained as a Para Legal in several prominent Law Firms near Boston for 11+ yrs, prior to moving to NH with her family, where she continued working in her field with local NH Law Firms. Susan had also worked part time secretarial positions for several Town Departments since 1986, as well as a number of the Town Boards and Committees. She enjoys being able to visit her home town of Salem MA where 7 of her siblings still reside, spending time with her 2 children and new grandson.

Kathy A Currier, Victim Advocate
...originally hired in Oct 1998 as a Dispatcher, which she worked for 3 yrs. She was then hired by the Town Assessing Office, where she's maintained a part time Clerical position. The Police Dept later re-hired Kathy as our on call Victim Advocate.
