The Alton Police Department welcomes and accepts job applications throughout the year. Your application, along with your most current resume, will be held on file for up to one year. When a position comes available within our Department, we will notify you by letter of the application process.
An Applicant for a Police Officer or Civilian position will be required to comply with the following application processes:
Submit a completed job Application, along with a Resume, pass a written test, physical agility test, medical examination, polygraph, psychological examination and background investigation. It is preferred that the Applicant have New Hampshire certification and credentials.
Police Staffing: Chief, Captain, 2 Sergeants, Detective, K9 w/FT Officer, FT School Resource
Officer, 4 FT Patrol Officers,1 PT Officer (Dispatch), 5 PT Patrol Officers, OC Animal Control Officer, Executive Secretary, Victim Advocate, Prosecutor (Attorney).
