Lead Mechanic
The Town of Alton is seeking an individual to perform highly skilled mechanical work in repairing and maintaining our fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment. Join our motivated team where every day is an opportunity to contribute to the community.
Full time position with many benefits including health and dental insurance, paid vacation, NH Retirement, 457 Retirement Plan and flexible schedule as well as paid holidays, personal days and sick time. Starting pay depending on experience with a pay increase at the end of the probationary period.
Duties include (but are not limited to) skilled mechanical maintenance and minor body repairs, metal fabrication and welding, diagnose and repair SCR/DPF emissions systems, small engine repair. operates divisional equipment as needed for snow removal and winter roadway maintenance.
A valid NH CDL Class B Driver’s License, NH State inspection license and high school diploma or GED is required. The successful candidate will be required to complete a background check, physical exam and drug test. Must be at least 18 years of age.
