Public Works

The Department of Public Works strives to provide the best service possible for the residents of Alton. The Department provides for the operation and maintenance of Alton’s infrastructure including but not limited to, streets, sidewalks, traffic and street signs, cemeteries, public parks and buildings, as well as solid waste collections.

The Public Works Department is comprised of 4 separate divisions:

• Highway Division which includes fleet maintenance
