Tinkergarten is back with Miss Kim at B&M Park this fall. Enjoy fun, hands-on outdoor activities designed to encourage creativity, problem solving, teamwork and an appreciation for nature.
Try it out with a FREE class on September 11th!
Regular classes will run September 18- November 13 from 10-11am.

Join us at the Alton Bay Bandstand this weekend for three days of live music featuring “Thursday Afternoon Band”, Mutha Hubbard Band and The Visitors.

Alton Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a Pickleball Clinic on Monday August 24th. If you’re new to Pickleball, this is a great opportunity to learn from a pro! Only $10 per person. Alton Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a free soccer program for ages 4-8 on Sundays at the Alton Central School soccer field starting September 13-October 18, 9am-10am. The program is led by Erick Bourdeau, Kingswood Boys Varsity Soccer Coach, and a group of fun volunteers. Register by August 17th and receive a free shirt. The Community Center on Pearson Road is used for a variety of Senior Programs as well as being available to other groups. The building is equipped with a kitchen, restroom facilities, and a large room for social gatherings. To make a reservation for function activities, contact 875-0109.
The Senior Community Center is the headquarters for supplying and delivering Meals-on Wheels to our homebound and disabled senior citizens. Meals are prepared Monday – Friday Noontime meals are also served at the center every day Monday – Friday. Citizens can always enjoy a nutritious lunch followed by social activities planned by the Director.
The Center produces a monthly newsletter highlighting senior programs and their luncheon menus. It includes tips with regards to health, nutrition, exercise and legal matters. The Center has clinics for blood pressure testing and flu shots. In addition there are special trips, free transportation, entertainment, volunteer services, internet access, the Visiting Nurse Association and related organizations. The Center is used for commodity food distribution.
There is Service Link Satellite Office in the building it offers referral services on matters relating to aging, chronic illness and disability. There is also a resource library providing individuals the opportunity to research information (educational articles, pamphlets/brochures, internet access.)
Alton Senior Community Center is open from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday. For information and a complete listing of scheduled programs call 875-7102.
